"Compassionate communication"

On-going practice group in Marshall Rosenberg's Nonviolent Communication (NVC).

For information, call Rev. Jean Darling, 312-405-9470,

Do you find yourself frustrated in your personal relationships, unable to make yourself understood, unable to get your needs met?

Learn how to cool down when you get steamed up;  learn how to ask for what you need without feeling caught in a one-down position.

Our sources are Marshall Rosenberg’s book, Nonviolent Communication, and the companion workbook by Lucy Leu.

Marshall Rosenberg writes, "It is our nature to enjoy giving and receiving in a compassionate manner."  What, then, happens, he asks, "to disconnect us from our compassionate nature?  What allows some people to stay connected under even the most trying circumstances?"

Join us as we learn to communicate more effectively with family, lovers, co-workers, boss, strangers on the street. We grapple with our experiences in everyday life – both those that keep us from experiencing our compassion, and those in which we feel blessed by another’s understanding.
